Author : William Colley & Leslie C Maitland
Comments : More useful advice packed into this little volume than most of the early books together. Profusely illustrated and full of interest, and all for 6 old pence.
Author : C G Eames
Comments : A rather lengthy diatribe into the merits of the game with precious little of instructional help. I have never seen an original, but I do remember a distraught Ron Crayden, after his his copy had been stolen from his Stand at the ’77 World Championships.

Author : Spalding Athletic Series
Comments : 27 pages of instruction PLUS 36 pages of advertisements for Spalding equipment, line drawings, illustrations and simple text. The advertising material is probably of more interest than the instructional section.
Author : Arnold Golsworthy
Comments : Illustrated by Hilda Cowham. This book is along the lines as the Louis Wain book of the same year., but the storyline is in the form of a diary, in prose.
Author : Walter H. Bronson
Comments : The text and diagrams for this booklet appear to be identical to the ones published with the same title, written by ‘the Hon Sec Ping Pong Association’.(As below). Which came first? Who copied who? – surely not the Hon Sec. There were no copyright laws in place at this time. It seems to have been a bit of a ‘free for all’.
