I received this enthralling book as a present from my son, who lives near Oxford and used to play in the same Club as this Author. Knowing that I collect TT Books and have a web site you would have thought I might have received a copy a little earlier. Nevertheless thank you Gareth, I still love you, I enjoyed the book and belated congratulations to your club-mate.

Comments : An impressive well written coaching book. Good explanations and good techniques. I would have enjoyed seeing some action photos from the top players, which I find helps to enthuse and excite the beginners.

Comments : A translation from the Japanese original of 2007 to commemorate the life of one of the all time greats of TT. The book is full of stories, yarns, and is a very good read. I don’t know if the original had any photos, this one certainly doesn’t, and I can’t help feeling that there are so many excellent photos of this Superstar and this would transform this book to an even better level.

Comments : A compilation of various yarns, stories, tips and quotes from the pen of one of the top US coaches. Sound advice and an interesting read. Why do I have this phobia about books having no photographs or even inadequate ones? Surely in 2009 you could reasonably expect to see colour photos?

Comments : A new approach most certainly. Some good well thought out theories, and as you might assume from the title a systematic strategy that would benefit most players. You would think that with a monster 525 pages there might be room for a few photos. The book mentions visualisation as a powerful tool, I agree. So, where are the photographs?

Comments : Interesting short biographies ofall the great Hungarian World Champions. It wasn’t until I saw them all listed out that I quite appreciated what a large part Hungary played in the development of our sport.

Comments : An illuminating book by the Swedish journalist who is also the PR Manager for ESN Elastomer, the German TT rubber producing company. The book details the history of our sport over the ‘speed glue’ era, and how ESN was developed. Also a fascinating biography of Jurgen Persson, the Peter Pan of modern TT. Very Absorbing.
